We are compiling an online directory of baddies in your area. This project is born out of nostalgia for old-school newspaper romantic ads, missed connections on Craigslist, and how friends describe each other.

We’re tired of swiping, the endless scroll, pointless texting, paying for premium. We’d much prefer a meet-cute like in You’ve Got Mail. Behind every great first date is an even greater friend: to hear about it, help you pick out an outfit, and if you’re lucky, to set it up.

Submit a description of your friend and one photo. Browse profiles that people have made for their friends by their respective city (right now, in Chicago, the Twin Cities, and Madison). If you see someone you are interested in or your friend would be interested in, email them~<3.

  1. You can’t make a profile for yourself.
  2. You must get your friend’s approval to make them a profile.
  3. Be nice <3.
  4. Not a rule but a recommendation: help your friend stand out. “Sam is relaxed” is way less descriptive than “Sam always shows up smiling and carrying a deck of cards – but is always 17 minutes late”. A way to get into this mindset is to visualize your friend, think of how they show up socially, and maybe what their mornings look like. As Dolly Parton said: “the first thing I do in the morning is try to make it home” and from that, we know and love who she is.
